«Lanxess’s year is in full swing: our strategy of focusing on targeted and high-margin products is giving us great insights and, in practical terms, we are working very well according to our new approach. It is really gratifying that all our divisions and all our specialties are registering constant growth everywhere» said with deserved pride, Matthias Zachert, chairman of the German giant when, in mid-November he presented the Third Quarter Results, based upon which the multinational company’s turnover exceeds 2.4 billion euro. A value that is reflected in an annual growth of 25% suggesting a gross operating margin of 1.3 billion euro.

These positive results follow another success: in September the German multinational company was (again) listed in two (Europe and World) Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) have been supervising the leading companies’ environmental, social and economic performances in the World’s Stock Exchanges since 1999. The annual rating is conducted by Robeco SAM with a best-in-class criterion based on three (economical and governance, social and environmental) principles. In 2017 it involved 3,400 companies belonging to 24 different sectors. Tribute was paid to Lanxess for improving emissions and water consumption, as well as for developments in the sector of human resources. «The principle of sustainable development is a cornerstone of our business strategy», said Zachert. «Being again in these important indices is a confirmation of our exceptional commitment in this direction».
