Lineapelle92, held at Fieramilano from the 21st to the 23rd of February, has hit the mark: stability, leadership, positivity and design.
It has succeeded in offering operators from the global market of leather the ideal occasion to discuss the evolution of a complex economic moment for the industry, discovering stimulating and concrete ideas on which to build and develop their futures. A result that further reinforced the role of Lineapelle as the international trade fair of reference for the luxury industry, fashion system, and manufacturing of fashion accessories.
More than 21,800 direct visitors were in attendance (+3% compared to the September 2016 edition, +1% over the February 2016 edition), with 55% made up by Italian visitors and 45% coming from 79 different countries. To this must be added the attendance numbers, which are now double-digit, of Simac Tanning Tech, the fair dedicated to technology (for tanning, footwear, and leather goods) that was held at Fieramilano Rho on the same days. There was also a significant increase in the number of visitors from Germany, China, and Russia; markets that struggled in particular during the previous season. The 1,198 exhibitors (+4% compared to a year ago, coming from 44 countries), accordingly wind up Lineapelle 92 with a feeling of great satisfaction, thanks to the business negotiations made between them and an increasingly select clientele with a strong focus, above all, on the product: in other words, business orientation paired with an extremely high quality. Factors that make a hoped-for relaunching of the market possible, after a 2016 characterized by light and shadows.
Success and interest were also shown in the stylistic choices of Lineapelle 92, which, for the Spring-Summer 2018, proposed a fashion itinerary that was summed up by the News From the Future! area. Exhibitors threw the stylistic caution characterizing the last few seasons to the wind, breathing light and freshness into their collections, while also expressing a considerable amount of creativity in them. The results were not long in coming. Visitors, in fact, in addition to appreciating the brand new layout of the main Trend Area in Pavilion 13, reacted with great interest, requesting samples, and expressing a desire to experiment and use materials characterized by a quality craftsmanship that is increasingly in sync with a “soft high tech” appeal. Lineapelle ends its 92nd edition and, without stopping for a moment’s rest, is all set to tackle its next editions. A full and global agenda.
