In the last year Wega proposed many improvements. Starting from the new features of its electronic Wegawin leather surface measuring machine, a machine that connects to the Internet and to any management system, becoming an operational terminal that receives and transmits data.
Wega explains that it has further perfected its software (Wegapremium) installed on the measuring machine allowing to store in a database all the information on the processing and measurement of the skins. A very important database that can be used by the tannery management system for all operational functions, from production statistics to invoicing. “The measurement of the leather arrives at the end of the processing, so you have all the processing data available that allows you to make evaluations of any kind. This program therefore becomes a very useful tool for tanneries that want to improve the efficiency of their processes”, explains engineer Nicola Ocello. The company from Arzignano has also incorporated an automatic printing and application system for barcode or QR code labels into the measuring machine, which has recently been improved so that it can also be used on small and soft leathers.
Another Wega novelty is a temperature control system in the drums with radio data transmission. “A very sensitive probe is positioned on the walls of the drum without any type of power supply which transmits data to the receiver through a transponder with the possibility of also setting an alarm. The installation of this monitoring system, which solves without the need for maintenance a huge problem of the tannery, is very economic and simple” concludes Ocello.
