Stahl believes in working side-by-side with customers and partners, with the aim of creating increasingly customised solutions. This is why it has invested a lot of resources in the expansion of its network of Application Labs in the last few years. Today, there are 37 of them around the world, able to provide smart and sustainable solutions to the leather industry. The structure of the Dutch chemical multinational is completed by over 11 R&D centres and 13 manufacturing sites. A structure that keeps on growing.

As a matter of fact, on 12 October 2017 it inaugurated a new Application Lab in Arzignano, the important leather district of Veneto. The new lab focuses on automotive, leather goods, footwear and furniture, and is able to develop new technologies, as well as to create tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of customers.

Performance, sustainability and style. Key words that kept on echoing in the speeches that preceded the ribbon cutting. Huub van Beijeren - Stahl’s CEO, after praising the creativity of “Made in Italy” and the centrality of Italian tanneries in the international scenario, highlighted the attention to the environment.

rqp_4461This topic was taken up also by Alberto Cantone, General Manager Stahl Italy, during the elegant gala dinner held at Villa Favorita (Sarego): “Our most innovative leather solutions will be the key focus in our new lab. An example: the new range of high performance automotive leather finishing products, still in development. Our experts will show that everything is possible and can be tailor-made”.

The big lab in Arzignano puts at the technicians’ disposal a wide range of drums for the wet part (from beamhouse to colour mixing), a department for finishing, a room dedicated to precise chromatic control, a lab for physical testing and an area dedicated to the footwear world with small spray booths and everything necessary for dyeing and aftercare.

A lab that, as already mentioned, will focus above all on highlighting the latest innovative sustainability solutions, like: Proviera® - Probiotics for Leather™, Stahl EasyWhite Tan™ and Stahlite®, together with the Stahl Neo finishing portfolio.
