A significant number of operators visited the stand of SC Costruzioni Meccaniche at Simac Tanning Tech 2018. The company proposed its machines that, as always, put safety and the environment first. At the forefront was the Hairpress filter, a self-cleaning machine specially designed for hair recovery in liming, which can also be used to filter other kinds of leather tanning waste or emissions from other industrial processes. The main feature of Hairpress is that of dewatering and compacting the retained material, thanks to a system consisting of a rubber cone with a particular shape (S.C. patent) that leads to a reduction in the volume and therefore a reduction in waste disposal costs.
Hairpress consists of a filtering pipe with semi-circular section, made of very thick stainless steel perforated sheet and a screw that scrapes the inner surface of the pipe. The material retained by the filtering panel is removed by the screw and pushed through the rubber cone where the pressure developed allows it to lose most of the retained water. Special brushes on the outer edge of the screw deeply clean the filtering holes and prevent them from clogging. The filtering flow rate is therefore always high, and maintenance of the filtering system is reduced to a minimum. The filter comes with an immersion pump for recycling the filtered liming. An electrical board and push-button control panel are located directly on the edge of the machine.
The same machine can be used for several drums in sequence and the hydraulic circuit of the drum selection in recirculation can be equipped with manual or automatic control valves or with servo-controlled valves.
