We asked Alessandra Tortora, ZDHC director for Southern Europe (i.e. Italy, France, Spain and Portugal) to explain to us the latest developments and new functionalities of the Gateway, the chemical registration portal.
“In May 2020 – she explains – we launched the app to extend access to the Gateway infrastructure via smartphone or tablet. At the moment, the mobile app only supports chemical module features. Now users can browse and validate chemical information even when they are on the move”. And again: “With the mobile app we are improving the user experience and enabling better facilities process management on site. In fact, the app offers the possibility to make quicker decisions on finding safer alternatives for chemical inventory and to adopt a verified chemical inventory”.
The Detox.live map
Detox.live is the new public disclosure map, improved over the previous version.
"In this new map – declares the Southern European director of ZDHC – Brands, previously connected with their suppliers via the Gateway, can zoom in on the supplier details and see the performance of their wastewater, based on verified wastewater data, analysed by ZDHC Laboratories but also those not verified. This means for brands to view their supply chain on the Detox.live portal”.
“As an extension of Detox.live, we have further enhanced the functionality of the Gateway to enable a more holistic flow of information. On the Gateway, brands and suppliers can initiate a connection. However, it is up to the brand to post their links on Detox.live and, while not mandatory, we strongly recommend the brand to do so in the interest of supply chain transparency. We will also release a new feature later this year, which allows brands to access and download data on the input and output performance of connected suppliers in various formats”.
Since June 2020, the ZDHC Performance InCheck service is provided exclusively by Approved Solution Providers, who have been approved and listed on the Implementation HUB website. “We have pioneered this service with two approved solution providers: CleanChain and BVe3. These two are already generating InCheck performance reports for their customers, via an API connection. Of course, we welcome more Solution Providers for this type of service” concludes Alessandra Tortora.
