The Tuscan entrepreneur Fabrizio Nuti, 57, is the new president of UNIC – Italian Tanneries.
The announcement was made yesterday, 3 December, during the general assembly of the association held by videoconference.
The new president of Italian tanners, at the head of the Nuti Ivo tanning group of Santa Croce sull’Arno, thanked the outgoing president Gianni Russo for the important work done so far, announcing that he wants to continue along the path undertaken, focusing in particular on some priorities: the sustainability of leather, its promotion on the market through the dissemination of clear and effective messages and the Lineapelle fair. “Taking over the presidency in such a difficult moment – said Nuti – where uncertainty reigns supreme, makes everything much more complicated and limits the definition of future programmes and projects. I will therefore limit myself to indicating as leitmotiv of my presidency the strengthening and enhancing of the Italian tanning industry, so that those features that have made it world leader are recognised and maintain a dialogue, a continuous and effective comparison, with all actors in the supply chain”.
During the assembly, the outgoing Presidency Council was reconfirmed – consisting of Gianni Russo, Graziano Balducci, Piero Rosati, Alessandro Iliprandi, Valter Peretti and Rino Mastrotto – and the UNIC General Council was extended to 4 new members with the entry of Chiara Mastrotto, Luca Pretto, Filippo Francioni and Fabrizio Masoni.
