As many as four Italian companies have received the prestigious APLF Awards 2019. The award for the Best Fashion Leather category went to the Milanese tannery Italhide for its exotic pirarucù skin (a fish living in the Amazon river) tanned in Brazil and finished in Italy in extraordinary, even fluorescent, colours. The Advanced Process for Leather award was instead given to L’Officina di Solofra for its quilted and heat-sealed leather, with a goose feather core, made with a new chrome-free tanning process.
The Veneto-based mechanical company Ger Elettronica won the New Tanning Technology category award, thanks to Iris, its newest device for online colour quality control that eliminates the risk of errors. Finally, the Best component statuette was won by Clic for its qualified offer of metal accessories.
