A wealth of fashion offers from the ÇETINKAYA tannery that has just won an award at the APLF MM&T of Hong Kong and is now preparing to inaugurate a second larger and more technologically advanced production unit
Outstanding in the Turkish leather industry that is increasingly gaining new market quotas is Çetinkaya, a big tannery specialized in treating lambskins, always new and more appealing as regards fashion content.
We have an in-house research laboratory to continually develop fresh articles, for clothing in particular and also the footwear sector but to a lesser degree. In fact we work with several big international names and always try t be constructive.
– explained owner Mehmet Çetinkaya. At the latest APLF MM&T of Hong Kong also the Turkish tannery presented such a noteworthy collection as to receive the prestigious APLF Award in particular for its lambskins with stretch properties.
We feel very honoured to have won this recognition and are also really satisfied with results at the fair. Although one sees the benefits later, at this edition we noticed an increase in attendance of visitors from many different countries as well as China and managed to do some very promising work with samples.
– declared the Turkish entrepreneur. Which are your major market outlets?
At present our leading market is China and Asia in general but we export a little to most of the world, from Italy to the United States.
– How do you see prospects for 2014?
Even if the global situation is still difficult for many reasons, we are optimistic: 2013 was a good year and by June we count on opening a second production unit, larger and more technologically avant-garde, equipped with Italian and German machines, that will enable us to further increase and diversify production.
– concluded Mehmet Çetinkaya.
