As already announced in this space, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, Hong Kong’s APLF Leather and Materials+ that should have taken place in late March was postponed to June 1-3 to ensure “the health safety of customers and staff”.  Everybody hopes that by that date the health alert in the world will have ended and that everything will be back to normal. Any further postponement of the fair would in fact represent serious damage to the entire leather system, not just to the fairgrounds. We remind you that the Hong Kong fair usually hosts over one thousand exhibitors and about twenty national groups from all over the world as it represents the reference trade fair platform for the leather area of the Asia Pacific region. In order to be able to reschedule the event in June, taking into account all the other shows scheduled at the HKCEC exhibition centre, organisers had to comply with some restrictions, in particular suspend the long-awaited renewal of the exhibition layout which provided for the overturning of the offer between level 1 and level 3 with the relocation of the Leather show to the third floor and the Fashion Access footwear and leather goods exhibition to the first floor. Due to the coincidence with another fair already programmed on the third floor, all this will not happen and APLF 2020 will find itself entirely concentrated on the first floor in Hall 1, from lane A to E, as well as on the concourse outside the halls’ entrance. In the meantime, organisers invite exhibitors and visitors to take advantage of the benefits offered by the online sourcing platform created in 2007 and revamped in 2015 connecting supply and demand without interruption.
