Leather chemists from around the world are being called upon to participate in the upcoming international event of IULTCS, the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies, which brings together all national associations from individual countries. The appointment is with the 37th Congress scheduled in Chengdu, China, Oct. 18-20, 2023. The theme chosen is certainly intriguing: "Innovations to make leather irreplaceable." Eight macro topics will be the focus of expert presentations: basic scientific research, sustainable technology, efficient and intelligent processing technology, chemical innovation, comprehensive waste utilization, analytical and testing methods, prospects for sustainable industry development, intelligent design and productivity improvement.
As always, the congress is jointly organized by IULTCS and the host association, in this case the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA). In view of the impact of the epidemic that may continue, the organizers have planned a hybrid "online+offline" plan. "But of course we hope that overseas leather scientists and technicians can attend the meeting in person and communicate face to face," they announce from CLIA.
Already active is the official website (https://www.iultcs2023.org) for delegate registration and submission of paper abstracts by aspiring speakers (the deadline is next June 15). Authors will be notified of possible acceptance of the research by the congress (and presentation of the paper in presence or as a poster) within July 15th.
